There's really not too much to say about this past week in Politicks As Usual...Japan's unfurling nightmare continues...Libya's an international war zone...the U.S. Congress as defunded NPR...every body's still picking on our current Commander-Wimp-In-Chief...and the 2012 Republican Chorus Line for Prez Candidates continues...thank God for animals - specifically dogs...they can teach us what humanity is amidst all of this chaos...(http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_thelookout/dog-in-japan-stays-by-the-side-of-its-ailing-friend-in-the-rubble)
To begin with, I frankly don't really give a flying horse's petunia on whether NPR gets defunded or not...nothing personal...I really never listened to it anyway...but my feeling is if they were receiving Federal funding then they shouldn't be knocking certain political segments with such vehemence...enough said...it's just a giant divisive spin in the big spin of things anyway...it's just another Talking Head Show as far as I'm concerned...folks enamoured with the sound of their own voice...http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-pn-house-npr-funding-20110318,0,6661745.story
It seems like everybody and their mother loves to knock the current Big-Spender-In-Chief-Barack...Newt Gingrich, the possible-potential candidate for Prez in 2012 claims that Obama has "checked out". "The administration has just sort of checked out...you know the President has this fixation with the Final Four...spent time on ESPN giving his version of what really mattered to him...which is the Final Four." Matt Damon, Barbra Streisand, Glee's Jane Lynch, Director Spike Lee, Robert Redford aren't pleased as punch with Obama's performance either - (http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_theticket/20110303/pl_yblog_theticket/matt-damon-joins-the-growing-list-of-celebrities-unhappy-with-president-obamaa) ...and to think I thought that Hollywood and Politicks was one and the same...it is, isn't it?
The Donald, aka Donald Trump is still questioning Barack's true roots..."nobody knew Obama as a young child in Hawaii...the reason I have a little doubt, just a little, is because he grew up and nobody knew him." The Republicans are still doing their Chorus Line auditions for suitable Prez material...will it be a boy or a girl? Or both? Newt...Mitt...Tim...The Donald...The Sarah...Michelle ...(http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/03/11/bachmann-increasingly-serious-about-presidential-bid/#more-149910) ...Oh well, we shall see. Who will be the Chosen Ones for the Red Team? Their charismatic leader? Leaders?
In the meantime, we can all just be grateful that we are still in one piece in the U.S. of A. We have shelter, we have food, we have gas. God save Japan and Libya. Perhaps we can learn a trick or two about humanity by watching man's best friend come to the rescue of his own. The dog has shifted people into a new paradigm of thinking...no longer is it a dog eat dog world but a dog help dog world...personally, if Lassie were running for President, I'd vote for Lassie.
