Nothing Personal...It's Just Business

The other evening I had this man come to my door who was running for some type of political office in the city. Automatically I had a knee-jerk reaction. Who do you think you are coming to my door and asking me to vote for you? Do I know you man? What makes you think that I want to vote for you or anyone at this point? To me you're just another door-to-door salesman with the latest widget in the must-have gadget department.

Why should I go and re-register to vote just for you? Hey Mister, I watch and listen to the depressing news about the sorry state of political affairs all over the world much less the local brouhaha. I do not see how my one itsy-bitsy-little-measly vote can really assist you.

I don't know about anyone else out there in Internet Blogosphere Land but I feel jaded. I feel abandoned. I feel betrayed. It really doesn't matter who is up there - they're always being taken down anyway. The economy is the Republicans fault...no it's the Democrats doing...let's manufacture yet another crisis to show the world how important we are. What news do you trust? Whom do you trust? Everyone in politics has made a career out of refudiating and browbeating everyone else.

I try not to talk politics with my close associates. We get to a point that we can all agree to disagree and then we drop it. Politics is a game of perception, isn't it?

Why should we/I believe what any promising or seasoned politician has to say? They have already got us into this whole economic mess because they believed in all the distortions that were spoon-fed to them. Did they rely on information that was erroneous? Who knows - ya' know?

Then the media-crazies decide to take sides blasting each political party depending on who is footing the bill for their network. This whole debt-negotiation-dog-and-pony-show-monkey- business gave me the genuine creeps. Why should we vote for any of them?

They have already proved to the world how they have already reached their Peter Principle. (highest state of incompetence) They got us in this mess by overspending. They have succeeded in scaring the pants off of everyone almost dead and/or alive with their high-drama political shenanigans. I say let's get some new energy in all of these political posts.

Let's get business leaders who have a proven track record to run this business called America!!! As Calvin Coolidge once said - "The business of America is business." They can always contract out attorneys to write new bills and what have you.

I look at the numbers that this official department or that official department puts out. We all know that the government specializes in mis-information. Smoke-'n'-Mirrors. Why should I, a citizen believe anything? I am jaded. I am disgusted. We are out of control.

The name-calling and blame game can only go so far. It does not accomplish solid solutions. The Japanese businesses had a wonderful idea. I believe it was called the Ringi Method. They asked the people actually doing the job for solutions...not the elites who were in charge who were out of touch with reality. You know, the ones who really don't know what their job is because they are sheltered in an ivory tower??? Yes...them.

The only news that I think is trustworthy is that which is put out by the political satirists. They see how ridiculous the whole thing is. That is one of the last honest jobs in America as far as I am concerned.

So Mr. Wannabe Politician...coming to my door soliciting my vote and support...I say No! Nothing personal. I wish you the best. I really do. I just don't vote for any politician anymore. Why should I? They all have this superiority complex that they have The Answer.

I vote for change...the kind that restores the faith in the heart of America back to it's roots for the free enterprise system. Not $$$The Change$$$ that is incrementally being taken from my purse. Do not ask me for my vote. You are not getting it. Give me a candidate that I can fully believe in. Our system is broken and fragmented and needs fixing. I wish I knew the solution...I really do. But the reality is - I don't. So I just pray. I pray to God that I stay healthy; vibrant; spirited and loved. I pray that I am able to keep afloat abundantly amidst all of this chaos of change.

I pray for folks worldwide to be happy, healthy, prosperous and loved. Isn't that what everyone wants? Correct me if I am wrong Mr. Wannabe-Politician-Knocking-At-My-Door. Can you promise me that? If you can't then Giddy-Up Cowboy...go knocking at someone else's door...see who wants to buy what you are selling...Nothing Personal - It's Just Business!

XOXO

Micheline
