The White House wined, dined and kowtowed to Prez Hu Jintao of China...could it be that little ole trillion dollars or so that the U.S. owes China? Could that have something to do with it? I wonder. Even Barbra Streisand showed up to the dinner with hubby James Brolin because she at one time "worked in a Chinese restaurant." Hey, I eat Chinese food and I wasn't invited.
The Donald, Donald Trump thinks that the whole steak dinner was like Sleeping with the Enemy or could even be like The Turning of the Screw type of deal. I will paraphrase The Donald - "They're manipulating their currency...you don't have a steak dinner for the enemy...we're letting them get away with murder...send them to McDonald's to eat...they're laughing at us." Watch you back U.S. ... no lead paints China, O.K?
A Straw Poll in New Hampshire had Mitt Romney as the winner for the 2012 GOP Primary. This was followed by, in percentage order; Ron Paul of Texas; Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota; followed by The Sarah of Alaska; Michelle Bachman of Minnesota; Senator Jim DeMint of S. Carolina; Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey and then The Donald - Billionaire Extraordinaire. This was like a pre-audition for the play - A Chorus Line - except it's GOP Prez material...every body's got a story...some more convincing than others.
I wonder when the media and press will get off of Sarah's back...apparently that is about to become a reality...Washington Post Op-Ed Columnist - Dana Milbank says he is declaring February - A Sarah Palin Free Month. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2011/01/20/AR2011012004349.html Everyone wants to know if she is running...I don't know...depends on who you ask. What's next for The Sarah? Acting? Singing? Dancing? Her own cooking show? She is amazing. She can do it all. She can spear down salmon...skin it...fry it in the pan and serve it with or without a hair out of place...all without losing a beat...wow...she is the Amazing Race...
In the meantime, Nancy Pelosi (D) will take up belly dancing in Congress to garner attention in her new demotion...John Boehner (R) will sing - Somewhere Over the Rainbow before every meeting and Prez Dude will continue to chant - Blue Skies...Nothing But Blue Skies - But - no matter which way anyone sings, dances, hunts, or fishes...the $14 trillion dollar question still remains...who will be running in 2012? Who will be in the final Chorus Line for that audience vote? The Dial-A-Winner extravaganza for either the GOP or 'Dem Dems? And that my friends - is the bottom line.
As the Tibetan Buddhist Monks say; "When you're sleeping and dreaming...that is the reality; when you are awake...that is the illusion." So, Let Them all Eat Steak...yawn... and everyone but everyone is still awaiting for....drumroll please - The Sex Scandal...stay tuned.

It seems that 2 days after the shooting folks were out there scooping up all the GLOCK 19's that they could muster up before there is a new emergency law saying saying that's it's illegal for private citizens to buy them. I certainly hope these folks did their background checks on all who did buy the guns...but quite frankly, that's just a delusional smoke 'n' mirrors trick...yes it does weed out some but not all potential offenders. Believe me, if someone is hell bent on getting a gun, they will get a gun. No excuses. The poor troubled shooter was smart enough not to have a psychiatric history that didn't come up on the radar...the media think tank coupled with the politicians were having a heyday on playing the Blame Game.
Jon Stewart thought that The-Big-Mourner-In-Chief's approach to consolation was more of a pep-rally as opposed to genuine grief. As ex-staffer Rahm Emmaunuel stated - "Never let a crisis go to waste." Unless it happens to you. That is actually when you may feel something. The whole speech - as I observed was Cookie-Cutter-Grief with a dash of Artificial-Mourning. Grief & Mourning For Sale.
Perhaps the Political Cyborgs (part-human; part-robotic) and Aliens may want to tone down their Think Tank with all of their inflammatory talk...but that's just not going to happen. I heard one Talking Head say on one of those Talking Head Shows..."Nobody would watch and we wouldn't have a job." And I counter with..."What planet did you say you were from...Cyborg? Or are you an Alien?"
Anyway, on another Talking Head Show, they were talking with some Congress people who actually knew something about mental health. I couldn't get past the fact that the standing excuse is/was - "That's there's no more $$$ in the kitty to increase services." Exxxxcuuuuseeee Me! How much of a wake-up call does Washington D.C. need? The shooter is just as much as a victim as the victims in his spree. He is/was a loose cannon...a by-product of this insidiously insane society...Houston, we have a problem. CaChing $$$. I just heard a cash register go off...there she blows...another couple of billion to all of those aggravating little wars in the Middle East...hey folks here in the U.S. ... you're on your own. We need Homeland Security in the Homeland too.
Anyway, according to a Quinnipiac Poll, taken between 1/4-1/11 2011...it said...that Prez Dude's approval rating is on the rise. Margin of error..2.4 + or -. It was with a sampling of 1647 voters...by phone. I ask...who are these voters? What is their party affiliation? According to the last Census in 2010 there is over 308 million folks in the U.S. Is that really a fair sampling? As Benjamin Disraeli once said - "There are three kinds of lies; lies, damned lies & statistics." Or "figures lie...but liars figure." (Charles Grosvenor)
Others highlights and hoopla of the past week is that Reagan's son said that his Dad was showing signs of Alzheimer's whilst in White House...we all knew that...that was hot press for awhile a while back...he's going on a book tour now with his story. Michael Steele was ousted as GOP Chairman...Bye Michael...replaced by Wisconsin's Reince Priebus...another lawyer...zzzzz. A Yale law professor put out a book about how Chinese mothers are superior - Mother-Superior-Dragon-Breathe-Tiger-Mom. She's already getting a lot of flack...
And there is a new Miss America...from Nebraska - The Cornhusker State...I didn't even know that they still had those silly-plastic-contest-ceremonies...anyway she is a 17 year old drop-dead gorgeous gal who apparently had all the right answers for America according to the judges..that is. She says - "I want to make sure I stand for what is right...stand up for integrity and honesty." She wants to go to law school and then go into politicks. Her name is Teresa Scanlan. I say find another profession Teresa. Find another profession that is worthwhile where you will be loved...like Mother Teresa...there are so many ways to make a difference. Don't be just another Political Cyborg.
Well the usual backbiting continues in the Political Cyborg & Alien capital of the universe...Washington D.C. this week...you know...back to the familiar...politicks as usual. The Aliens and Cyborgs will insist on pushing their agendas through...the dogs bark and the caravan moves on...and still no sex scandal...yet. Bill, we miss you...when are you coming back?

I watched the ceremonial swearing in process this past Wednesday of the New Senate & Congress...I swear I was transported into a dimension of "Godliness"...the inter/intra/non-denominational service felt like a High-Magic-Mass of the highest ideals and perfections of humankind...the light blue and bright red ties all glistened like jewels to the camera...with a hint of one shiny green tie...all participants dressed in their Sunday best courting their best manners...it felt all so surreal...indeed this was a Holy Order of sorts... A Holy Order in the High Courts of this Fair Land...
Harry Reid (D) Nevada is Senate Majority Leader. The Nancy - Nancy Pelosi (D) former Speaker of the House...gave a long-winded oration of all the accomplishments of the Democratic House before she handed John Boehner (R) the new Speaker of the House, The Gavel...actually it reminded me of a Sludgehammer...it was so big. I kept on saying to the TV..."Nancy, it's over. Give it up! Hand it over! It's done! Fini! Hand over the gavel for goodness sake"...it kind of reminded me of a kid who was willing or not willing to share their taffy...a comical spoof...but finally...she did give it up.
So now John is in and Nancy is out. I think that John did very well in holding back his tears of joy of his emotional heart...he is truly a son of what this country was and is built on...backbone-grit-will & determination...a working class hero who climbed to the top of his ladder...for now...had a series of odd jobs...bartending...waiting tables...construction...night school. He had a vision...and the courage to go forward for that ideal in his mind's eye...it is truly touching...moving...it stands for everything that is right about this country. When John said; "I do," when being sworn in, I felt like he just got married to his commitment of listening to the folks of the U.S. of A....we shall see...time will tell.
Notable quips heard on the air and in the air this week - Harry Reid (D) Senate Majority Leader..."The Tea Party will disappear as soon as the economy gets better and the economy is getting better all the time." A Woman Caller on one of the conservative talk shows called in and said..."It's easy to be liberal - you don't have to know anything." Regina Benjamin - Surgeon General talked about Disco Dancing -"That exercise is medicine...it's better than most pills."
Donald Trump...AKA "The Donald" who apparently is leaning Republican or is Republican said in an interview on John King USA (CNN) - according to the political rumour board he is "seriously considering the possibility of running for Prez...that he is seriously concerned that other countries are taking advantage of the U.S. of A. ...particularly S. Korea, China and OPEC." All I know if "The Donald" does make a decision on whether or not to run, he is definitely in it to win it.
Tim Pawlenty (R), the former ex-gov of Minnesota, is still undecided about whether to throw his hat in the Prez ring for 2012. He's the guy who wanted to open the Kenny Chesney MargaritaVille Bar in Florida...anyway...he says -"Well, it's a free country...anyone can run for President that's over the age of 35." It's all so political, isn't it Tim? It's all about approval ratings...
Speaking about approval/disapproval ratings...it seems that Big Apple Mayor, Mike Bloomberg (I) had only a 37% approval rating after New York's last snow storm...I guess that indicates that he is not shovel ready for handling blizzards...well, let's see if and how he can dig himself out of that one...the public has a short attention span and is always so forgiving...
Navy Captain Owens of the U.S.S. Enterprise didn't get too many laughs from his superiors from his comedy videos packed with four letter words and gay slurs...and apparently it is somewhat vague about whether Sarah Palin and her Twittering whether or not she is pro-gay or not...so what? What does it really matter anyway? We are still all members of one race...the human race...so what is the Big Deal in the grand scheme of things???
Speaking of Twittering...apparently the U.S. is now subpoenaing Twitter account info from WikiLeaks founder - Julian Assange and supporters of his group. PFC Bradley Manning - U.S. Intelligence Analyst; Birgitta Jonsdittir - member of Icelandic Parliament; Rop Gonggrijp - a known Dutch computer hacker and Jacob Appelbaum - a U.S. programmer. It is still somewhat unclear whether all are related in some way, shape or form and/or whether subpoenas were also issued to Facebook and Google...stay tuned.
This coming Wednesday is the big hoedown-showdown with the repeal of ObamaCare...back to politicks as usual...a lot has happened the very first business/political week of January 2011...and my deeply heartfelt condolences to Gabrielle Giffords (D), and all of the victims of the January 8th massacre in Tucson, Arizona...my prayers to all...unfortunately a sad reflection of the deep healing that is needed to occur in our fragmented society...a moment of silence to all...tolerance is needed and must be heeded.
So we shall see what unwinds as the second week of the New Year begins...the dogs bark and the caravan moves on...we are Dancing to a New Political Strategerie and My Deepest Heartfelt Condolences...
